For Students: How to get a job in Advertising or in Marketing

Gillian lectures at UCT and various other academic institutions, so is frequently asked “how do I get a job”. This is a short course for institutions to help their students understand the industry and how to get into it.
Get a job in the Ad Industry
Duration: 1 x half-day

Overview and aim

  • A half-day workshop for Creative and Account Management students on how to go about getting a job in the ad industry.
  • This includes understanding and defining their own personal brand, and finding the right fit in the agency they select.
  • It gives an overview of the agency, and how to attract attention in order to secure an interview.
Outcomes
The outcome must be for each attendee to understand how to go about finding a job in the very competitive ad industry environment. This includes understanding and defining their own personal brand, and finding the right fit in the agency they select.

Get a job in Marketing
Duration: 1 x half-day

Overview and aim

  • A half-day workshop for Marketing students on how to go about getting a job.
  • This includes understanding the key success factors for great marketers, as well as defining their own personal brand, and finding the right fit for the company they join.
Outcomes
The outcome must be for each attendee to understand how to go about positioning themselves to be hired, and applying the skills they have learned to date in their studies. The course will be run by Graham Pfuhl, a veteran and multi-award winning Marketer. He is also a Chartered Marketer.
